Saints may not be committed to Deuce

Interesting article from the Sun Herald on the Saints possible not keeping Deuce around. With the young backs stepping up, McAllister could be cut.

When pressed on whether the Saints are firm in their decision to keep McAllister around come roster bonus time, which typically occurs near the free agency period, Loomis wasn't prepared to unequivocally commit to McAllister.

"We've got till March to make those kinds of decisions and to look at it," Loomis said. "We'll spend some time looking at it, evaluating what's best for our team and for Deuce. We haven't made any decisions."

Saints team needs per Yahoo

Found this from Yahoo. Could it be any more vague?

New Orleans Saints (7-9): They have to figure out how to keep Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush healthy and improve a pass defense that was riddled by big plays. Defensive end Charles Grant had a down year, and the middle of the defensive line could use a young playmaker. They are still without a true playmaker in the back seven, which is where they will likely concentrate their efforts when evaluating players for this year's draft.

Orgeron has his eye on Saints defensive line position

I am kinda iffy on this! Oh good to see Larry Holder back earning his keep!

Neither New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, nor former Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron, were ready to admit that Orgeron interviewed Monday for the Saints' vacant defensive line coaching position during the Senior Bowl festivities.

Terrell Owens cries, I mean TO cries

It hurt to see TO crying. Maybe he is growng up...

T.O. made it clear that this loss shouldn't fall on Romo's shoulders. Tears formed behind T.O.'s designer shades while he stuck up for Romo in his postgame press conference.

"You guys can point the finger at him," T.O. said. "You can talk about the vacation, and if you do that, it's really unfair. It's really unfair. That's my teammate. That's my quarterback. If you guys do that, man, it's unfair. We lost as a team. We lost as a team, man."

Saints DL Coach David Cutcliffe Hired By Duke

Associated Press - January 11, 2008 8:04 PM ET

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - David Cutcliffe completed his first staff at Duke today when he hired New Orleans Saints assistant Marion Hobby as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.

Cutcliffe says Hobby is a winner with a great understanding of the game and an exceptional leader of young men.

Hobby was on Sean Payton's staff in New Orleans for the past two seasons, joining the Saints after a season at Clemson and six seasons with Cutcliffe at Mississippi.

Hobby becomes the sixth member of the Duke staff to have worked with Cutcliffe at Ole Miss.
